I am very excited to work with you to create your custom invitation. I’m committed to making sure this process is seamless, and most importantly fun! Don’t hesitate to ask questions along the way.

Step 1: Reach out.

Contact me through the Contact form to alert me of your interest.

Step 2: Communicate your vision.

I will email, phone, Skype, (whatever works best for you) so that you can help explain your custom vision. At this point, you can share any photos or web clips that work with your idea so I can get an idea of the visual you want created on your invitation. At this point, please also get together what text you want on your invitation, RSVP card, etc. I can give suggestions if necessary.

Step 3: Deposit and paperwork.

Once the concept has been decided upon, I will send you a contract that outlines the expected timeline and process as well as the estimated pricing. I require a nonrefundable down payment of $250, paid through PayPal or personal check, which will go towards the final cost of your invitation set, prior to starting design.

Step 4: Sketching and Painting Phase

My first step to crafting your custom invitation is by sketching and roughly painting 2 layouts for your invitation. We will work together to narrow down the sketches to 1 layout and fine tune any additional changes prior to the final painting. I will be sending you pdfs along the way and may even share a sneak peak of the work in progress on my blog.

Step 5: Typography Phase

In the typography phase, I will try your design out with 2 different font choices and orientations to choose from.

Step 6: Final Approval, Payment, & Printing

I will provide you with a 2 page pdf with “proof 1” of the invite and RSVP card designs. Please proofread carefully for accuracy and spelling/grammar. Once the “final proof” is approved, I will send you an invoice and ask that you pay the balance prior to sending the artwork to the printer.

I want a custom design but I’m not sure what I want done, what should I do?
If you have a set idea, great! Sometimes you might just have the beginnings of an idea or you’re between a couple and that’s totally normal. If you have a few ideas, no worries, we can work to narrow it down. If you have no ideas, I will prompt with you with a few surefire questions to open up the idea stream and we can go from there.

Can I see a physical copy of the invitation before sending the design to the printer?
If you are interested in a hard copy sample of your invitation, I will be happy to order one for you for a small fee of $20 (includes shipping).

How long will it take to receive the invitations after the design is complete?
I like to allow the printer 2 weeks to print your invitations and order your envelopes. You can expect delivery of your custom design Hand-Painted invitations a mere 2 weeks after that! Please allow at least 6 weeks prior to expected delivery when starting your design process.
