    Sneak Peek: My Table at the Lovesick Expo

    Here is a sneak peak of my table at the Lovesick Expo, which is this Sunday in Philadelphia! The theme of this styled table is romantic with painterly details. The beautiful blue tea cup and saucer were my late grandmother’s. The birch column on the right is a candle holder I just purchased from Terrain. There is a dip dyed table runner going across the table, and paint brushes and paint scattered throughout the table.

    It appears that I did the Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed (the racks for the backdrop are rented), Something Blue in my tablescape, which seems super appropriate, don’t you think! Funny how things like that happen by “accident”!

    I can’t wait to meet new friends, colleagues, and couples on Sunday at the Lovesick Expo! I hope to see you there! I’ll be the one in a striped dress at the Hand-Painted Weddings table!

    I spend a lot of time being inspired by other designer’s blogs and on Pinterest, so I thought it would be a great idea to share a few of the businesses I admire on this blog. This is the first post in the new Admirable Businesses features category.

    I discovered the Holstee Manifesto a little more than a year ago (I asked for it and received it as a gift around the holidays in 2011). I loved how such a positive message could go viral during a time of economic uneasiness. This manifesto spoke to me…it calmed my mind and inspired me. I have the print hanging on the wall as I enter my bedroom, and I have a small screen grab (similar to the one on the left above) printed super small and taped to the bottom of my computer at work, as a constant reminder to not over think things and approach everything with love. I love how the business displays the poster too, with someone holding it in front of them in the midst of a busy city street.

    The Holstee company has built its vision upon these positive messages. In the online shop you can find greeting cards that say “Live Your Dream” or “Share Your Passion”. I’m very happy that a company with such a positive influence is getting recognized by many.

    Also, be sure to check out their videos. They are really awesome. Maybe someday Hand-Painted Weddings will design a manifesto!

    This past weekend the Hand-Painted Weddings Twitter page got a little makeover. I have been on Twitter for a few months now but only recently have paid some attention to it. I find it to be a great way to network amongst the wedding industry, and get some attention from some businesses that I may otherwise have not. It is a lot of fun to see an email pop up that such-and-such business is now following you…it’s like wow, I feel honored that you want to follow me!

    I’m definitely still learning how to best use this social media vehicle. If you are a beginner to tweeting like me, here are a few great articles to get you started on your Twitter strategies for your business.
