There’s something undeniably captivating about an intimate wedding, and when set in the luxurious and timeless setting of @thecolonypalmbeach in Palm Beach, Florida, it becomes nothing short of magical. This stunning venue, with its pink exterior and classic Palm Beach charm, is the perfect backdrop for a couple who wants a stylish and fun celebration. I had so much fun working with the mother of the bride on these pink custom wedding invitations!

It's time for a little "Meet the Artist" moment for Allison, the artist and owner at Hand-Painted Weddings....

Why watercolor? What do you love most about this medium?

To me, watercolor is the perfect medium for weddings because it is so elegant and personal. There isn’t anything synthetic or digital about it. It’s carefully painted and love is infused in every stroke.

What’s your favorite part of designing wedding invitations? 🎨

This is a tie for me. I love meeting couples on video calls—I always feel a burst of energy learning all about the couple’s wedding plans all while my creative mind starts envisioning their suite. I also find myself smiling a lot while I’m painting.

How do you personalize each invitation for couples?

I love to capture each person’s unique story by adding their pets to invitations, including love stories to their custom illustrated maps, and highlighting their wedding venue in their invitation. I find that when a couple visits and chooses their wedding venue, there is an internal connection to the space and highlighting that in their invitation feels very personal and exciting for their guests.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not designing? 💜

I love walking my dog, Brody, around my neighborhood while listening to a guided meditation—it helps balance my creative brain. I also love dressing up to go out for a nice dinner with my husband. I love yoga and decorating my home for the seasons—hello fall!

What’s one piece of advice you’d give to couples looking for wedding invitations? 💌

Find a stationer that cares and loves to learn more about your vision because she will be expanding and making that vision a reality in such a physical way. I have had so many couples say that I have taken their vision that only lived in their minds and made it a reality and that has set the tone for the entire wedding’s look and feel. #handpaintedweddings #handpaintedweddinginvitations #handpaintedweddingstationery

I literally walked into the courtyard and was like ‘I’ve painted this place before!’ It is such an intimate process painting a venue for a couple’s invitations and it really is such a thrill to see the place I painted in person. It’s one of my greatest joys! 🩵

The start to August has me soaking up the sun and wanting to enjoy these long hot days as much as possible. But I also love what’s next—-autumn! Here is a #weddinginvitation I painted that encompassed the gorgeous autumn glow. This wedding took place at @hermanandluthers and their stationery featured the buildings there. I also added a copper #waxseal to the front of their invitation card to feature their #weddingcrest
