A common custom thumbprint guestbook idea is to have a painting of your wedding venue in the distance with a path going towards it for your guests to “sign” with their thumbprints. Another idea is to commemorate where the couple met, or where they got engaged, by having a painting of the scene with a path for the thumbprints.

The most common thumbprint guestbooks have the thumbprints as leaves on trees, but they can also be ripples in the ocean or lake, snowflakes in the sky, or my favorite….footprints on the ground. Please note that the artwork is designed so that about 1/2 of the painting leaves room for the application of thumbprints.
