At long last, I am excited to reveal the Hand-Painted Weddings table from Wed Altered! I really love how the table came together. The flowers I bought from a local NYC corner shop matched the logo so perfectly, and the colors of all the elements on the table came together in such a pretty, calming way.

If you look closely you will see that there was a bird theme across my table. My good friend Melissa graciously allowed me to borrow the two beautiful glass birds that she just bought from West Elm. A little less obvious in these photos is the bird salad plate from Anthropologie, that I fell in love with. You can also see the birds and feathers in the Hand-Painted menu, table number, escort card, and invitation, which were all inspired by the Sunset Save-the-Date in the Hand-Painted Weddings shop.

This was the first table I set up with a dinner place setting. I found this to be very important to showcase the different layers paper can create an impact for a couple’s wedding. Paper is the tying element from guest’s first impression of the wedding (through the save-the-dates and invitations), throughout their wedding day (through their ceremony programs, menus, escort cards, etc.), and into their final thank you cards.

This was also the first time I painted in public (outside of a classroom environment, of course). I have to admit, I was a little nervous going into it, but am so happy that I brought all my supplies and chose to paint at the show. It felt so authentic and it really interested and eased people to see me painting (I really felt like the zen table.) You can see in the photos a bit of what I was painting, but be sure to check back in later in the week to see a few close-ups of my paintings from the show.

  • Hand-Painted Weddings at Wed Altered this weekend!

    Wed Altered

Today I head to NYC to participate in this really awesome bridal show/pop-up called Wed Altered at the beautiful Studio Arte building this Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 12-13.

Hand-Painted Weddings will be the exclusive invitations designer at the show. Our table will feature a beautiful table display complete with dinner plate, salad plate, and placemat showcasing a hand-painted menu, escort card, table number, and coordinating invitation set. My goal is to show how a design can weave throughout the entire wedding from the save-the-date to the paper goods at your reception. We are also doing a raffle for a free Thumbprint guest print. Also you wont want to miss a intimate peak of me painting; I will be set up to be painting the entire weekend at my table!

I can’t wait to meet some NYC brides who will be there for unique bridal gown fittings. I also can’t wait to meet more creative wedding professionals!

If you are attending Wed Altered this weekend, please stop by and say “hi” and don’t miss the opportunity to sign up for our raffle!
