  • Chic and Intimate Wedding at The Colony Hotel, Palm Beach

Luxury wedding invitation for a Palm Beach wedding at The Colony Hotel

A Chic & Intimate Wedding at The Colony Hotel, Palm Beach

There’s something undeniably captivating about an intimate wedding, and when set in the luxurious and timeless setting of The Colony Hotel in Palm Beach, it becomes nothing short of magical. This stunning venue, with its pink exterior and classic Palm Beach charm, is the perfect backdrop for a couple who wants a stylish yet personal celebration. Today, I’m excited to share how my hand-painted watercolor wedding invitations brought this romantic vision to life.

Palm Beach Vibes and Chic Elegance

The Colony Hotel is an iconic landmark in Palm Beach, known for its glamorous history, chic atmosphere, and vibrant pink facade. Inspired by this iconic setting, I designed a luxury wedding invitation suite that reflects the sophisticated tropical aesthetic of the venue while incorporating playful elements that make Palm Beach so unique. The result is a blend of elegance, nature, and fun—just like the couple’s celebration.

    Details of the Invitation Design

The invitation suite centers around a beautiful watercolor painting of The Colony Hotel, highlighting its grand entrance surrounded by swaying palm trees with a vintage bike along the bottom. The blush pink tones of the hotel are balanced with fresh greens, making the artwork feel both warm and refreshing. The envelope liner was painted with lush greenery and blooming flowers, inspired by the wallpaper inside the Colony.

Pink flamingos—one of the signature elements of Palm Beach—make a delightful appearance throughout the invitation set. From the escort cards to the RSVP card and even the thank-you note, these iconic birds bring a whimsical, tropical touch. The flamingos gracefully represent the easygoing, relaxed atmosphere of a chic beachside wedding, and the hand-painted style adds an intimate, bespoke quality.

    Luxury with a Personal Touch

I had the pleasure of working closely with the mother of the bride to bring this vision to life. This intimate wedding was all about celebrating the couple’s love with their closest friends and family in an atmosphere that felt luxurious yet warm. The hand-painted details of the watercolor wedding invitation suite allowed the couple to create an experience that started well before the wedding day—inviting guests to imagine the beautiful, sunny location awaiting them.

The calligraphy, combined with soft pink and green tones, helped bring an air of sophistication to the design, while the watercolor illustrations told the story of the couple’s chosen venue.

    Celebrating Love in Paradise

There’s something truly special about celebrating love in paradise, and The Colony Hotel embodies the best of Palm Beach—classic luxury, tropical beauty, and chic glamour. Designing this luxury wedding invitation suite was a wonderful experience, allowing me to capture the essence of the couple’s romantic, intimate wedding while paying homage to the stunning venue they chose.

If you’re planning a wedding that draws inspiration from your location, whether it’s a luxury hotel, a serene beach, or a grand estate, hand-painted watercolor wedding invitations can beautifully capture the spirit of your celebration. It’s all about creating something unique that feels like an extension of you as a couple, giving your guests a glimpse of the experience they’ll be part of.

  • Watercolor Cartagena Wedding Invitation

Watercolor Cartagena Wedding Invitation at Hotel Charleston Santa Teresa

When one of the stars from the Price is Right contacts you for wedding invitations for her Cartagena wedding in Colombia, you jump up and down! Well, I know I did. It was such a pleasure working with Manuela on her gorgeous Cartagena wedding invitations and wedding day paper. Like many of the brides I work with, she considered every single detail. This is apparent in the photos below from her wedding. Cartagena’s most iconic street is featured in her thank you cards, and is available as an invitation design in the Hand-Painted Weddings shop.

Manuela also wanted to make sure the classic Cartagena street and cathedral was on her wedding invitation. But the main focus of her Cartagena wedding invitation was her wedding venue, the historical showstopper, Hotel Charleston Santa Teresa. With her main wedding color being gold, we splurged for the gold foil lettering on the invitation which really elevated the entire invitation set. Cartagena is a very colorful city in Colombia so I was fortunate enough to get to paint many of the colorful elements in this invitation set.

For Manuela’s wedding day paper, we worked together on her menus, which featured a local Colombian woman with a basket on her head carrying fruits and vegetables from the menu the guests were about to enjoy. The place cards tied in with the Wedding Particular card from the invitation set and featured string light and a soft blue background. String lights hung outside from the cocktail hour location so it was a perfect detail to include. I then worked with one of my friends, Letters by Kristen to do hand calligraphy on all of the place cards in metallic gold ink. These matched the seating arrangement cards we worked together on which hung on top of an antique gold framed mirror for guests to figure out where they were going to sit during the reception. I have to say, it was pretty fun doing the famous Drew Carey’s seating card!
