Apple orchards are a must-visit during the fall season for my husband and I. We are very lucky to have a good selection of orchards to choose from in the Philadelphia area. There is something so special about picking fruit off the tree. The only thing you need to watch out for…bringing home too many apples! Picking apples can be so enjoyable it is easy to go overboard!
I love the photo of the hawk I captured in the second photo and how it juxtaposes with the photo of my husband pointing upwards at the sky.
It is still wet here on the East Coast in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, but I’ve decided to keep my mind preoccupied with reminiscing about sunny trips to the orchard.

Sending love to all my fellow mid-Atlantic bloggers and readers who are getting hit by Hurricane Sandy today into tomorrow. I hope you all stay safe, your homes stay dry, and your neighborhood trees stay in the ground. Today my husband and I are bunkered down in our home, which I must admit has been a welcome, relaxing break to the hustle and bustle of life lately. But I am still having a bit of anxiety to those that aren’t lucky enough to live in a third floor condo and are struggling with massive flooding, electricity outages and evacuation. My heart goes out to you today!
A little history about this photo I am holding above. There are a couple of hearts that have been spray painted on the street on a local college campus. I noticed the hearts right away, adored them, but kept the observation warmly to myself. My husband, who is a fanatic observer of found art, also saw the hearts at a separate time and took a photo of one of them, printed the photo on glossy paper and set it on my desk for me to find later. It was such a nice surprise! I love that we both saw this beautiful little symbol of love and that we shared it separately and now together.
