• Inspired by String Lights

This week I am inspired by string lights. String lights are the epitome of lazy, hot summer days relaxing with friends on decks and porches. Smell the delicious aroma of barbeque mixing with citronella. Heirloom tomato salads, crisp beers, and sweet watermelon smack your lips….it’s summertime!

  • Hand-Painted Reception: Italy

There are so many options for designing your Italy-inspired wedding.

You could go the old-world charming route and have a lot of lace accents, candlelight, and rich colors.

You could also create a wedding inspired by the textures and colors of Venice. The silvery green (from the water) and the coral (of the buildings) would be a beautiful color palette for this wedding design.

You could go for a very strong Roman theme, especially if your wedding venue has pillars in its architecture.

Another route is to focus on the food of Italy, which is what I hinted at with this inspiration board. On one of my trips to Rome, I went with a good friend, Melissa, and stayed with her extended family. It was a marvelous way to see how the Italians live. The family didn’t speak much (if any) English, so I had to stay keen on observing their body language to keep up with the goings on. One of the things I liked that they did, is at the dinner table the passed around a baguette and broke off a piece of it and put it directly on the table cloth to eat with dinner. It was so casual; I loved it. It would be so much fun to have a wedding on a long table where food is served family-style and where the guests all break bread together.

  • Hand-Painted Invitation: Venice Canal

The Venice Canal Invitation is perfect for the couple who is doing a destination wedding in Venice, but it would also be splendid for the couple who adores Venice as much as I do, and wants to pull that aspect of their lives into their wedding day.

This invitation celebrates the beauty of the canals in Venice. It symbolizes the history and passage of time of one of the most unique cities in the world.

The Venice Canal Invitation is available for ordering under the Hand-Painted Weddings Shop Invitations tab.
