If you follow me on Instagram, you noticed that while I was posting on the blog last week, I was actually across the ocean in Budapest, Hungary! I don’t think I have mentioned it here on the blog, but I am currently enrolled in an MBA program. Through this program, our class travels to two different countries (one emerging economy; one developed economy) to explore and learn about the economies and visit businesses. Budapest is considered an emerging economy.

I think Budapest is such an unappreciated European city! I was surprised to see how ornate the buildings were and how beautiful the view was from across the Danube (on both sides). It was so romantic! The nightlife was very lively! They do not use the Euro currency, so the prices were fairly cheap for American travels. I highly recommend making a trip to this city. It has such an interesting history and culture. I loved the city!

Also for me, it was such an accomplishment to be able to travel with my injury. As you know, I broke my leg in March and was having a very slow recovery. At many times I wasn’t sure if I could join my class for this trip, but I kept myself enrolled and used this trip as motivation. I had only gotten off the crutches 4 weeks prior and I can’t say I was the fastest walker in the group, but I was stubborn and climbed stairs and hills to tops of castles and cathedrals. I wasn’t going to let my injury inhibit me and I am very proud of that accomplishment. Also, because of all the exercising I endured, my leg strength has progressed much more rapidly than if I hadn’t pushed it.
