Once upon a time (aka a few months ago), I was fortunate to be asked to join a few other talented wedding professionals on a styled Modern Cinderella photo shoot. The chance to work with other talent on a purely creative photo shoot is one of the reasons I love this industry. There is such a beautiful sense of camaraderie in working together to create art. The different styles and viewpoints each artist brings together truly create a masterpiece.

I provided the invitation, menu, table number and escort cards. Today’s post features the overall whimsical aesthetic of this shoot, along with some of the beautiful Cinderella themed details Krista came up with, such as the white pumpkin, the paper crown, the spool of thread, and of course, this gorgeous pale blue gown. I love how all of the light blues come together into this dreamy masterpiece.

This photo shoot was featured on the blog Bridal Musings, who put together a gorgeous post that you simply must check out to see more photos!

Also, in tomorrow’s post I will be featuring the Cinderella inspired tablescape details. See you here tomorrow!

  • Wedding Invitations and Fashion Styling

Wedding Invites Fashion Styling by Hand-Painted Weddings

Last week’s invitation styling inspired (what I believe to be) a very interesting new way to photograph the Hand-Painted Weddings Shop Invitations. The idea is too connect fashion and invitation by styling the photographs with myself holding an Invitation in front of outfits that relate in design. This is a beautiful extension to the very human element of watercolors, by having a person holding the invitation.

What sets Hand-Painted Weddings apart is the very human element that watercolor brings to your wedding. It isn’t digitized, just as the wedding that follows the invitation isn’t digitized or cookie cutter. A Hand-Painted Wedding is unique, human, and, of course, hand-painted.

Ombres, coral pinks, and unexpected dip-dyed elements decorate the Hand-Painted Romantic Lace Reception. Accenting with pale aquas and natural textures like burlap or kraft paper is a perfect way to make your wedding reception casual and soft, while keeping the natural elegance of pink and lace.

I think that is my favorite bit about this inspiration board. It can be very monochromatic and feminine, or it can transition to a more approachable, effortlessly elegant look, which would be perfect for a more casual wedding, with the addition of a few textural accents. All in all, this is a wonderful reception style for your spring or summer wedding.
