    Cartagena Watercolor Save-the-Date by Hand-Painted Weddings Cartagena Watercolor Save-the-Date by Hand-Painted WeddingsWhen my client gave a photo of a shopping bag as inspiration for her custom save the date, I knew it was going to be a fun project! This is my first client who specifically requested an abstract watercolor design for their save the date, which was extraordinarily exciting for me!

    This watercolor save the date design is light, bright, and joyful, as destination weddings on the beach ought to be! I love the way the paint colors are layered on each other in a fluid and organic way. The script Love is playful and loose. Oftentimes script and calligraphy fonts can feel very feminine but the font used in this watercolor save the date isn’t gender specific. I can’t wait to design their invitation next!

    Watercolor Save the Date Magnets by Hand-Painted Weddings

    Hand-Painted Weddings is now offering watercolor Save-the-Date magnets! Save-the-Date magnets are fantastic because they don’t get lost (well, unless you have a lot of refrigerator magnets). The other fun thing I’ve noticed about Save-the-Date magnets is that they tend to stay on people’s refrigerators long after the wedding because they are pretty and decorative!

    The most common Save-the-Dates have photos of the couple on them, but unless you have chosen to have engagement photos taken or have a friend who is a professional photographer take photos of you and your fiancé, it can often be challenging to find a photo that feels right to be reprinted for all your close friends and family….especially given the life and visibility of the Save-the-Date magnet. That is why I’m offering another option to the Photo Save-the-Date magnet.

    I believe that Save-the-Dates can match your invitation package or it can be completely unique and different than the invitation package. This is why Hand-Painted Weddings sells its Save-the-Dates separately from its invitation packages, so you can choose consistency or a blending of styles.

    The Birds of a Feather Save-the-Date would be beautiful in conjunction with the Bird Feather Invitation and RSVP card, but I believe it would also be beautiful with the String Lights Invitation or even the Back-to-School Invitation. The way the feather on the left is standing it almost resembles a quill pen.

    The point is weddings are fun. They are an expression of your love so do what feels right to you. Lets not get all matchy-matchy because we think it should be that way. Lets have some fun!

    Perfect Seckel Pear Save-the-Date

    The Seckel Pear Save-the-Date has a lovely vintage feel to it. It would be great for the couple who is having a lot of vintage elements in their wedding. I think this vintage aesthetic works wonderfully with an Autumn wedding. There is something so cozy and charming about it. Also pears are seasonally appropriate for a wedding during the fall.

    Have I mentioned that Autumn is my favorite season? It is the season of learning and slowing down to notice all of the subtle changes in the air. It is crisp air, warm colors, charming pumpkins, apples galore, light jackets, and fantastic scarves!

    What I love about the Sunset Birds Save-the-Date I designed is that it doesn’t work solely for beach weddings because the ocean is not in it. This Save-the-Date would work well in conjunction with the Sunset Invitation, or with a separate unrelated invitation. I am a strong believer that the Save-the-Date is a great opportunity, like the invitation, to express a passion that the couple shares. The perfect couple for this Save-the-Date would love watching sunsets together, whether it is from the top of a mountain, on the beach, or across fields of grass on the countryside.
